SBDC names Cavallaro as new senior consultant

Karen Cavallaro joined the Lone Star College System’s Small Business Development Center as a senior consultant on April 6.

Cavallaro most recently served as the owner of her own marketing and promotions business and also is an adjunct professor in the business department at Lone Star College-CyFair.

She will be headquartered at the LSC-CyFair campus and will be responsible for SBDC’s western service area that includes CyFair and Magnolia.

"We feel extremely fortunate to have someone of Karen’s caliber join our staff," said Sal Mira, executive director of LSCS-SBDC. "She brings a wealth of business experience to the table. It’s this kind of experience and knowledge that will serve her well as she assists other entrepreneurs in dealing with their business challenges."

Cavallaro said she was anxious to get started with SBDC.

"I am excited about assisting entrepreneurs in the CyFair and Magnolia business communities," she said. "With my MBA in marketing, and broad background in sales, marketing and information technology, as well as experience in corporate America, a partnership, sole proprietor and franchisee, I now look forward to helping others build their dreams."

The LSCS-SBDC works with existing companies to help them get started, grow and compete in today's global economy. SBDC services are available for companies in every phase of the business life cycle, helping entrepreneurs make sound decisions and succeed.
