Five Local Businesses Honored at Banquet

Lone Star College System Small Business Development Center recently presented the 22nd Annual Small Business Advisory Council Awards during a banquet hosted at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. More than 300 guests were in attendance for the event.

The LSC SBDC Advisory Council reviewed more than 130 nominated businesses and selected 15 finalists, three from each community served by a Lone Star College. Five were selected and recognized as award recipients at the banquet.

Award recipients for the 22nd Annual LSC SBDC Business of the Year Awards were:

"We were thrilled to win and were so pleased to be a part of the recognition of small businesses that give back and support their community," said Summer Patton of the Grayson-Patton Team.

"Lone Star College System is well known for improving our community through education and we are grateful for the resources LSC SBDC provides growing businesses like ours. This award means a lot to us on a professional level but has a lot to do with the way we individually conduct ourselves in the community so it is of the highest compliment," said Patton.

Gold sponsors for this year’s event included Sam’s Club and First Community Bank. Dinner entertainment was provided by Ace Jazz Group.

"We had a spectacular awards banquet this year recognizing these small businesses for their business achievements and contributions to our community," said Sal Mira, LSC SBDC director.

"This year’s award recipients represented a broad spectrum of industries from financial to real estate, to health care and manufacturing," said Mira.

The LSC SBDC works with existing companies to help them get started, grow and compete in today's global economy. SBDC services are available for companies in every phase of the business life cycle, helping entrepreneurs make sound decisions and succeed.
